Common questions

How do I install asambl?
asambl is invite-only during the beta. Join the waitlist and, when your invite wave opens, we email you a beta key. Head to asambl.app/download, grab the macOS or Windows build from GitHub, enter your key, and the setup wizard walks you through the rest.
Where is my data stored?
Your plans, notes and files live on your computer as markdown, JSON, and CSV you can open in any editor. asambl doesn’t upload your files. When AI is on, only your question for that request goes to asambl’s managed AI (hosted by Microsoft on Azure), and it isn’t stored long-term.
Can I use asambl without AI?
AI is optional and can be switched off at any time. With AI off, asambl stops drafting your weekly and quarterly plans, but everything else keeps working: you can capture and store everything, browse your notes and plans, search, and use your calendar, habits and reminders as normal. Turn AI back on when you want asambl to draft the week for you.
How do I report a bug or request a feature?
Use the feedback form at asambl.app/feedback. It takes under a minute, no email required, and you can attach a screenshot. You can also email us at [email protected]. Either way, steps to reproduce and screenshots are always helpful.
Is there a mobile app?
Yes. The Companion runs at calendar.asambl.app in your phone's browser, or as an iOS app. It pairs with the asambl desktop app (which needs to be running) so you can see today's calendar, capture notes and reminders, log workouts, and track meals (including barcode scanning) on the go. Everything you send is end-to-end encrypted to your desktop, and captures sync back when you are next at your computer.
