What is asambl?

asambl is a private, whole-life weekly planner for macOS and Windows. Each week it drafts a plan across the parts of your life you choose, work, health, money, relationships, growth, and joy, from your priorities and the time you actually have. You review and approve it before anything reaches your calendar. An iPhone companion handles quick capture on the go.

What asambl is, and is not

It is

  • A private, whole-life weekly planner (with quarterly planning too)
  • A tool that drafts a week you review and approve, every time
  • A planner across six life areas, not just your work calendar
  • Yours on your own computer, as portable markdown, JSON, and CSV
  • A two-way sync with the Google Calendar you already use

It is not

  • Not a note-taking app or a second brain (it plans; it does not store your knowledge)
  • Not an autonomous scheduler: it never rebooks your calendar on its own
  • Not a chatbot or a companion; it is a tool with an editorial voice
  • Not local-first or offline: drafting a plan uses a cloud AI you can switch off
  • Not a task manager or a to-do list app

How it works

  1. 1

    Notice

asambl reads the priorities, commitments, and personal context you choose to give it, and the time you actually have.

  2. 2

    Draft

It reconciles your chosen life areas into one realistic week, sequenced around your energy, with a Plan A, B, and C so you can plan by the day you actually have.

  3. 3

    Review

You accept, change, or reject every proposal. Nothing reaches your calendar until you approve it. This is true indefinitely; there is no autopilot.

  4. 4

    Live and learn

Your calendar reflects the approved week, and what actually happened carries forward with context, so the next week starts from reality.

The six life areas

asambl plans across six optional life areas. You can start with the ones that matter most and add the rest over time.

  • Work & Career
  • Health & Wellness
  • Finance
  • Relationships
  • Joy & Lifestyle
  • Mind & Growth

Platforms and calendar

The desktop app runs on macOS and Windows. An iPhone companion (also a mobile web app) handles quick capture and a day and week glance. asambl syncs two-way with the single Google Calendar you choose and exports .ics anywhere; Apple Calendar and Outlook are on the roadmap.

Privacy

Your plans, notes, and files stay on your own computer as portable markdown, JSON, and CSV you can open in any editor. When AI is on, only the prompt for that one request goes to asambl’s managed AI (hosted on Microsoft Azure) and is not stored long-term. Semantic search runs on your device, and AI has a real off switch. To be accurate: this is more private than typical planning software, not a fully offline, local-only tool, because drafting a plan uses a cloud AI call.

How asambl compares

Work schedulers like Motion, Reclaim, and Sunsama optimise your working day and auto-schedule or ritualise it. asambl plans your whole life and leaves the judgement to you. Knowledge tools like Obsidian and Notion help you remember; asambl turns what you know into a week. See the honest comparisons for where each is the better choice.

Common questions

Is asambl free?

It is free during the beta, with no card required. After public launch it is one plan (around $19 a month), with a founder rate near $12 locked in for the first 200 members.

Is asambl private?

More private than typical planning software, though not local-only. Your plans, notes, and files stay on your computer as portable files. When AI is on, only the prompt for a single request goes to the managed AI, and you can switch AI off entirely.

Does asambl replace my notes app?

No. asambl is the weekly planning layer. Keep whatever you use to remember; asambl decides what actually happens next week from your priorities and time.
